Fethiye, sheltered at the end of a bay with 12 islands, attracts many travellers because of its natural beauty, its narrow and lively streets, its quaint plazas and market place. Dry, long, hot summers and short, warm, rainy winters are climatic characteristics of Fethiye. The temperature is around 30-40 C during the summer and usually above 10 C in the winter. Swimming is possible here for 9 months a year! Three highways bring you to Fethiye through the pine forests and mountains, with connections to Antalya (Olympos, Konya, Cappadocia), Mugla (Marmaris, Bodrum, Kusadasi, Ephesus) and Burdur (Pamukkale, Istanbul). Scheduled, numerous busses provide the link between Fethiye and other cities. The nearest national/international airports are Dalaman at about 50 km from Fethiye and Antalya, 150 km. Fethiye is blessed with spectacular surroundings : Oludeniz or the Blue Lagoon is one of Turkey´s most beautiful beaches. Butterfly Valley, The ancient sites of Tlos and Xanthos, The hidden canyon of Saklikent and Kayakoy are only a few of the places to be seen. Ovacik and Hisaronu are 2 closeby holiday villages with numerous hotels, holiday villages, restaurants and bars/clubs. Fethiye is without any doubt a place not to be missed !
Saklikent – Tlos – Yakapark Tour: Departure days: Wednesday-Thursday-Friday-Sunday (between 01.June to 15oct ) and pick up from Oludeniz 08:15, Hisaronu, 08:30, Fethiye 09:00 am (apprx). This trip is a perfect combination of history and nature. Firstly you will discover one of the most interesting cities of Lycia called Tlos with its interesting mythological stories and mystical history. Then we will drive up to a trout farm of Yakapark for a unique lunch with the accompany of lovely mountain views . Finally have a nice adventure; a short canyon hiking through the incredible gorge of Saklikent (The Hidden Canyon) which is 14 km long and 600 m high. Tlos lies on the east side of the Xanthos valley, and is dominated by its acropolis. This rocky outcrop slopes up from a plateau with a charming village, but ends on the west, north and northeast in almost perpendicular cliffs. Tlos is known to have been one of the most important religious centers of the Lycian region in Antalya province of Turkey. It is known as the city where mythological hero Bellerophon and his winged flying horse Pegasus lived. Determined as the oldest city of Lycian Region by the archaeological excavations, Tlos dates back to the time before 2000 B.C. The graveyard on the natural rocks of the city acropolis was filled with most elaborate house-type tombs Of Lycia. It is known that the king-type tomb in the necropolis is dedicated to Bellerophon.
Lycian Way Tour: Hisaronu to Faralya – We start out at the beginning of the Lycian Way Hisaronu, with the back drop of Baba Dað Mountain. We reach the village of Kirme first and continue on to Faralya where we at night. There is the option of walking down to Butterfly Valley. Pansion (L,D). Faralya to Kabak – From Faralya to Kabak we have pine forests on our left and beautiful sea views on the night. The walk is not so long today and there is a 40 min. walk to the beach optional. Tree Houses (B,L,D). Kabak to Alýnca – This is a short walk in terms of horizontal distance but the route rises from sea level to about 600 m, using a beautiful old patika to cross the sheer ridge to Alýnca. From the top of the ridge, looking down at Kabak beach is like peering from a glider – silent, sunlit views of breaking waves and strips of sand glimpsed between the strawberry trees. Village House (B,L,D). Alinca to Gey – This route runs along the coast and then the new dirt road Gey. From there the route, mostly exposed and treeless and with bare stark views of rock, sea and sky, lies parallel to and well below the new dirt road. Village House. Gey – Letoon – En route to Letoon we pass Bel meaning pass and is the lowest point between Karadere and the sea. The route follows and old Roman road and is varied running inland then backtracking to the sea. Pansion (B,L,D). Delikkemer – Patara – The final days walk follows an acqueduct towards is source sirching round the NE of the flat plain which forms the estuary of the Esen Valley. (B,
Regular Dalyan & Caunos Tour: Departure days: Monday –Wednesday- Thursday- Saturday (between 01.June to 15oct ) and pick up: Oludeniz 08:15 Hisaronu 08:30 Fethiye 09:00 (approximate times). This area is national ´treasure´ of the country with its unique wildlife and nature. Tour bus will take you first to Dalyan (Caunos), and there you will board on to a boat going up the river which will take you first to the mud baths and then to a restaurant for lunch and finally to the lovely beach for a long and joyful swim break; where the endemic Caretta Caretta turtles lay their eggs. These turtles can live up to 120 years, and they are in danger of being extinct. High on the cliffs above the Dalyan river you can see magnificently carved Lycian royal rock tombs. In addition to the turtles, the Dalyan delta is also home to many sea creatures like crabs, which can be ordered as a delicious sea food at a little cost. The area between the reeds is a maze of waterways. Enjoy a day of peaceful nature.
Daily 12 Island Tour : Pick up from hotels at 10.00. Departure from Fethiye Harbour to 12 Islands around 10:30. We will visit Flat Island, Dock-Yard Island, Bedri Rahmi Bay, Cleopatra Bath, Red Island. At the end of the tour, we turn back to the harbour of Fethiye at 18.30 and you will be transfered back to your hotel.
